  14. Get 1 1/2 tbsp oil
  15. Get 3/4 tbsp garlic finely chopped
  16. Get 1/2 tbsp ginger finely chopped
  17. Take 1/4 cup spring onions finely chopped
  18. Get 1/4 cup capsicum or bell peppers finely chopped
  19. Take 1 tbsp soya sauce
  20. Take 2 tbsp red chilli sauce
  21. Take 1 tsp vinegar or tomato ketchup as needed (or apple cider vinegar)
  22. Make ready 3/4 tbsp. corn flour (1 tsp for dry)
  23. Prepare 1/4 cup water to dissolve corn starch(2 tbsps for dry)
  24. Prepare 1 cup water or veg stock for gravy (½ cup for dry)
  25. Prepare 1/2-3/4 tsp red chilli powder or 1 tsp red chilli paste
  26. Take as needed Salt
  27. Get 1-1 1/2 tsp sugar
  28. Get 1/4-1/2 tsp pepper coarsely crushed
Instructions to make Veg Manchurian:
  1. Making manchurian balls…. - Add veggies, corn flour, plain flour, ginger garlic paste, pepper & salt to a mixing bowl. - Mix everything well. You can also add bread crumbs to make the balls extra crisp.
  2. Fry these balls in hot oil on a medium flame. Do not disturb them for few seconds to 1 min after the balls are dropped in oil. They will be delicate and may break. - After few seconds of frying, you can keep stirring and fry until they turn golden.
  3. Drain them on a kitchen tissue.
  4. Making manchurian sauce… - Heat oil in a pan, then add ginger garlic and saute for a min. - Add spring onions and capsicum. - Saute for 1 to 2 mins on a high flame without burning.
  5. While these fry dissolve corn flour in water. - Lower the heat, then add soya sauce, red chilli sauce and red chilli paste. - Stir the corn flour, pour it to the pan.
  6. Next stir gently and pour water. Stir and taste the mixture. - Add vinegar, salt, pepper and sugar all to suit your taste. The sauce should taste slightly sour, hot and sweet. - Keep stirring and cook on a medium flame until the sauce thickens. Do not cook till very thick. The sauce will thicken further after cooling.
  7. Switch off the flame and allow the sauce to cool for 1 to 2 mins. Boiling hot sauce will make the veg balls soft and will lose the crispness.
  8. How to make veg manchurian… - Add the veg balls to the sauce just before serving. Garnish with spring onions,chillies sauce and tomato sauce.
  9. Serve Veg Manchurian as a starter and will get appreciation for the yummy flavour indeed.
